Our parent organisation, the Young European Federalists (JEF), held their biennial Congress from November 13th to November 16th in Strasbourg, France to elect their new Executive Board and Federal Committee and decide on the direction they should take over the next two years. I attended alongside the Chair of YEM Liverpool, Cameron Thompson, and the Chair of YEM London, Sebastián Pérez, while the former President of YEM UK, Julius Lajtha, and the former International Officer of YEM UK, Alexiane Terrochaire-Barbançon, were also in attendance.

Moritz Hergl, previously the International Officer of JEF Germany, was elected as the new President, alongside the other seven members of the Executive Board, all of which Cameron and I met with virtually beforehand in order to discuss our shared priorities. Debora Striani of JEF Italy has become our new representative. We are very excited to be working with her on an event for the 10-year anniversary of the Brexit anniversary and want to express our gratitude and best wishes to Hanna Lein-Mathisen of JEF Norway for her ideas and practical support over the past two years.

In addition, sixteen members were elected to the Federal Committee. They will be running the Political Commissions on Institutions, Policy, and International Affairs and the Task Forces on Global Federalism, Fighting Nationalism, Empowerment & Diversity, Capacity Building, and Civic Education.
